Modern Charms - S/T

I stumbled across this band today via the Whirr's suggestion and came across a San Francisco group called Modern Charms. There are only two tracks that I found currently available for listening via bandcamp but as per the suggestion serve to be worth the quick listen. The band sounds as though Liz Phair, and the Pains of Being Pure at heart are being blended together creating a bliss 90s alt-rock, shoegaze inspired sound. Give the two tracks a listen and see what you think for yourself.

L.I.E.S. Presents: American Noise

Record label Long Island Electrical System has put out an electric music compilation which turned out very well. The album provides great underground dance and experimental electronic music which were created during the label's first two years. The album is a must listen to the electronic music fan out there. I highly recommend this release to anyone willing to give it the time. I've listened to it several times at work and have yet to be disappointed or not sell a copy. See what this release is about for yourself. Here is a track by Legowalt off of the release.

Kurt Vile - Wakin On A Pretty Day

Kurt Vile recently released a self titled single off the upcoming April 9th Matador release Wakin On A Pretty Day. This single comes highly recommended as Kurt Vile has put together another nice little track which has a simple, pleasant, chilled out vibe to it. Give this track a listen and see what you think for yourself. This is definitely a record which is on my radar.

New Anti-Piracy Program

American residents who are sharing music illegally might run into some internet issues with the new system which is being rolled out to crack down on copyright infringement. The system recognizes the ISP when it notices illegal sharing and sends a series of notifications which become progressively more severe and could cause problems such as slower internet speeds and required educational videos of policies. Watch the video below to learn more.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Sacrilege

New York crew the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a new studio record due out on April 16th titled Mosquito. The band has released a new single for the forthcoming record titled Sacrilege and is a must for a Yeah Yeah Yeahs fan. The record is not so dance driven like the last record was designed but incorporates more of a indie rock style from earlier records creating a nice modern blend of sounds to create a good indie rock song that is sure to be another popular Yeah Yeah Yeahs track. Give it a listen and see what you think for yourself.

Still Corners - Berlin Lovers

Sub Pop group Still Corners will be releasing their sophomore record on May 7th titled Strange Pleasures and are currently giving there first single away for download. Araabmuzik - For Promotional Use Only

Araabmuzik is releasing a new album titled For Promotional Use Only  and is expected out within the next week. Two tracks have been released so far off the upcoming release. The singles so far have a heavy electronic club driven sound to them so if you are looking for some good club music here you go.

British Sea Power - Machineries of Joy

British Sea Power has a new album titled Machineries of Joy due out April 2nd via Rough Trade records. Listen to the first single to be released off of the self titled fifth studio record.

Headshotboyz - Bushcrack Hills

Hungarian Duo, Headshotboyz have released a new electronic record on Russian label Fusetone. The sound is disjointed but held together as though it were a Flying Lotus track. It reminds me of a similar complexity and style and is worth the listen if you are a fan of Flying Lotus. Put your ears to this album preview if you are an electronic fan to see if its up your avenue.

Mark Kozelek - Like Rats

Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters is releasing another album of cover songs which is currently being stream through Pitchfork. The album has an interesting mix of songs being coevered from old punk, modern pop, and classic rock. I have not heard the record the entire way through but the Bad Brains cover I did hear sounded like a tune that any fan of Mark's work would enjoy. I can't speak for the entire album but the album seems like an interesting listen and is one I am optimistic I will sit down to soon. Check out the stream for yourself and see what you think of this acoustic style album. Like Rats

Beach Fossils - Clash the Truth

Indie Rock group Beach Fossils is set to release their new record Clash the Truth on Capture Tracks one week from today. The record has a great hazy, reverb guitar feel and sounds great. Put your ears to this album or at least a track to check these guys out. Yet another fine Captured Tracks release helping to keep the strong momentum continuing into this year from last years successful releases.

TOPS - Evening

Montreal based band TOPS has released a new record which is available in limited quantities of CD, Vinyl, or Tape. The album is titled Tender Opposites and has an interesting hazy indie pop sound to it. Put your ears to this track if this sound appealing to you. See what you think for yourself. Also in addition here is a remix I found posted on soundcloud on the same tune which is very nice if you are in to remixes.

Lapalux - BETHR

UK electronic, hip-hop beat producer Lapalux has released a new single titled BETHR. This tune is great as it is quick, catchy and very enjoyable. Give this track a listen and see what you think for yourself.

Fire! Orchestra - Exit!

Band Fire! Orchestra is band Fire! (Mats Gustafsson, Johan Berthling, and Andreas Werliin) along with a 28 piece avant-garde jazz/rock members. The album was recorded in front of a live audience back in 2012 and was released via Rune Grammofon back on January 11th. Here is the first of two tracks on this record. If you are a fan of avante-garde this is some great music for you!

James Blake - Retrograde

English producer James Blake has a new single out which has a great chilled out electronic track with R&B/Pop vocals laid over the top. Typical to James Blake's style but with a nice new improvement sound to it. This track comes recommend. Put your ears to it and see what you think for yourself.

The Shaolin Afronauts

A friend of mine mentioned this group to me a few months back called the Shaolin Afronauts but I passed it off until now for no particular reason really. After stumbling upon a song in my suggestion I found out this recommendation was a good one. These guys released their debut album back in 2011 titled Quest Under Capricorn. The group has a Afrobeat, Funk, Jazz sound making the record a very interesting listen.

Boogie Belgique - Time for a Boogie

Stumbled upon this group on a spotify playlist. Not sure on a lot of the details about this group but this record has a great sound to it! Check out the preview of the recently released album, Time For A Boogie, below just to get an idea. This group has a trip-hop, swing infused vibe and at times to me is reminiscent of the Avalanches with the mixture of swing samples into the music. This group comes highly recommend and is worth putting your ears to.
